Healthy Eating

Your school governors met earlier this month to update our School Food Policy. They, like nutritionists nationwide, are committed to ensuring that our pupils have a balanced and healthy diet.

The key changes are:

  • Only water and fruit juices to be drunk as part of a packed lunch or playtime snack.
  • No edible items (e.g. cakes, biscuits, sweets) to be brought in for birthday or other celebrations. Goodie bags should not contain sweets.
  • No sweets to be given out as rewards.

We are encouraging parents and staff to celebrate in other ways. These changes will be worked towards during this half term and will be enforced from January 3rd 2017.

Uniform Reminder

Pupils should be in black shoes or trainers every day. It is important part of being at Abbey that pupils are in full uniform and take pride in being part of the school.

Sportswear

Abbey Primary are pleased to announce our new partnership with Pendle Sportswear! We now have our own dedicated website provided to us by Pendle, displaying our own branded P.E. kits and sportswear.

As we are a partner school, we have been able to secure these garments at a very competitive price allowing you to provide high quality, low cost, smart P.E. wear for your children to wear in P.E. and at any after school/intra-school activities they may be attending.

The range of clothes will vary when new stock comes in, so keep your eyes peeled! Please see the link below for the Abbey P.E. website:
