Class Week

The week beginning Monday 2nd December will be ‘Class Week’. The pupils will stay with their class teacher all week working on creative and exciting investigational, problem solving and team building activities. Literacy, maths and science will be taught through a cross-curricular approach.

The aim of this week is to provide the children with opportunities to lead and be more independent in their learning.

There will also be a strong emphasis on pastoral care – the teachers getting to know the children in their class really well, which is often difficult when they swap teachers for literacy and maths

Message from Mr Foster

We have had three big events this week. Parents’ evenings were again fantastic, with so much positive feedback from you all. We really do value the support you give your children and the school.

Last wednesday was our first ‘Breakfast Morning’ and I was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the children for this initiative.  Every week, on this day, the pupils can come into school at 8.30 a.m. for toast and juice. The aim is to create a more relaxed, ‘family style’ start to the day once a week.

Finally – Last Friday was Children in Need and I would like to thank all of the staff and children who wore their pyjamas or onesie to raise money for disadvantaged children across the UK. It’s another great human values contribution from you all.

Anti-Bullying Week 2013

Established by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, Anti-Bullying Week takes place on 18-22 November 2013 with a focus on cyber bullying.

Aims

  • To ensure all children and young people are equipped to recognise and challenge bullying behaviour wherever it happens – whether face to face or in cyberspace.
  • To equip schools, colleges and youth service leaders with resources to encourage youth led anti-bullying initiatives and the positive use of new technologies.
  • To educate those who support and work with children to recognise those who may be particularly vulnerable to bullying through new technologies – encouraging an inclusive approach to all e-safety education.
