Quick Sticks Hockey
Our ASF players won the Leicester City Quick Sticks Hockey Tournament recently. Yet another brilliant sporting success for Abbey Primary!
Parents Evening Letters
Please don’t forget to return your Parents’ Evening letters – they are taking place on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th April.
Abbey Primary is now a Teaching School
I am delighted to be able to let you know that the Secretary of State for Education (via the National College for Teaching & Leadership) has accepted our application to become a teaching school from September 2014. We are the first of Leicester’s 80 primary schools to be given this important designation. Teaching schools give outstanding schools across the country (like Abbey Primary) a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school-to-school support. This work will benefit our own staff and pupils as well as those in schools across the city. Thanks to all pupils, staff, parents and governors for their support in making Abbey the amazing school it is today.

Message from Mr Foster
Dear All
Better news on attendance! Last week’s overall attendance for full time pupils was 96.7% – well above our 95% target. Three classes achieved 100% and 17 out of 21 classes surpassed our 95% target. Thanks to everyone – can we achieve this percentage every week now?
A final and massive “Congratulations” to our final two Apprentices. This has been (as they all are) the best Apprentice yet. Eight amazing tasks and so much money raised, that they have donated an extra £300 to charitable causes! Every candidate will have benefited from the incredible experience that ‘The Apprentice’ offers. It has also been great entertainment!
