Remembrance Day

Our pupils commemorated Remembrance Day with a minute’s silence on Thursday 11th November. They also watched films relating to WWI – the war that started on the 4th August 1914 and cost the lives of 900,000 British soldiers. That’s three times the current population of Leicester. The war finally ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month … that’s 11.00 am, 11 November, 1918 … and that this was the moment the guns fell silent.
